About the role
Fabrikam is hiring a staff-level backend engineer to help design and scale the services behind its platform. This is a fully remote role open to people based in EMEA time zones.
You’ll set technical direction for a group of teams while staying hands-on in the code.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and operate distributed backend services in Go
- Lead technical design reviews and set direction across teams
- Improve reliability, observability and performance
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality
What you’ll bring
- Around 8 or more years of backend engineering experience
- Production experience with Go or a similar language
- A solid grasp of distributed systems design
- Comfortable working remotely and writing things down
Nice to have
- Experience with event streaming (e.g. Kafka)
- Cloud infrastructure experience (e.g. AWS)
